Ozo Ebo is an Enterprise Risk Management Director at Independence Blue Cross. She brings to her current role, over 20 years of risk management experience with consulting and industry perspectives. While in consulting, her clients included major international banks, leading global custodian banks, and investment banks. Ozo specialized as a trusted advisor in assessing, designing, implementing, and optimizing institutions’ finance, operational risk and enterprise risk management capabilities, governance structures, and compliance practices.
Ozo has been brought in by fortune 50 companies to establish best practice, an overarching governance structure, risk culture and framework around Enterprise and Operational Risk Management. She is currently focused on embedding risk management in strategic and business decision making processes across the enterprise by leveraging reporting around risk appetite and tolerance. Most recently, Ozo formalized an emerging risk framework to proactively identify and plan for Black Swan events.
Ozo has conducted internal trainings on risk management and compliance topics and has also published thought leadership on enterprise risk management practices in the insurance industry. Ozo has an MBA from the University of Maryland’s Smith School of Business and an undergraduate degree in Accounting. She is also a Certified Public Accountant. In her personal time Ozo enjoys travelling.
