As Chief Risk Officer at the National Security Agency, Karen Butler oversees the agency’s enterprise risk management process, working across organizations to identify and assess significant risks in support of senior-level decision-making. In her 30+ years at NSA, she has served in multiple positions as analyst, staff officer, and manager. Ms. Butler earned her master’s degree in National Security Studies from the National War College and her bachelor’s degree in journalism from Marshall University. A West Virginian native, Ms. Butler is an avid traveler who enjoys hiking and photography.
