In addition to her more recent work in the public sector, Catherine is fortunate to have enjoyed other opportunities at DHS, Pfizer Research & Manufacturing, The Hartford Financial Services Group, Olin, GM as well as consulting. Risk management has been a consistent factor in all of these diverse assignments, although she has discovered she truly has no risk appetite to fight real fires and greatly appreciates those who do.
She completed a Bachelor of Science at Cornell in Natural Resources, as well as two Masters of Sciences in Industrial Hygiene and Toxicology from the University of Michigan and a MBA with a minor in Finance from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. She holds certifications as a Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM), Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Business Continuity Planner (CBCP) and an Associate in Risk Management (ARM). She is an adjunct professor at the University of Alaska at Fairbanks School of Management.
When not working, Catherine is trying to learn Spanish and loves to travel to new places as well as go hiking with her husband, Phil, and their adopted coonhound mix, Kali.
