Caitlin Rogalski is the inaugural Chief of the Accountability Office, reporting directly to the Deputy Director for Management and Administration. The Accountability Office (AO) was established in 2019 to consolidate related oversight and risk analysis programs into one office that could ensure data and trend analysis was available for informed leadership decision making. Specifically, the AO oversees:
- OIG hotline referral management
- OIG and GAO audit liaison activities
- OIG and GAO open audit recommendation tracking, including responsibility for ensuring NPS meets the DOI Performance Scorecard goals for closure
- Enterprise Risk Management implementation, programmatic internal control review, Regional Internal Control Coordinators oversight, and related OMB A-123 Annual Assurance Statement Activities
- Related accountability and risk projects
Caitlin has previously served as a senior ethics official and manager at NPS, the Bureau of Land Management, and the Department of Agriculture. In addition to her ethics experience, she spent significant time working for the Department of Commerce Office of Inspector General involved in investigations, establishing the Whistleblower Protection Ombudsman program, in the General Counsel office, and overseeing the OIG hotline process. She holds a B.A from Simmons College in Boston, and a J.D from the George Mason School of Law.
