Jamal Bouaichi is a Director in Operational Risk Management at HUD. In this role, he serves as the lead in capturing and managing Operational Risks for the office of Housing; which include: Single Family, Multifamily, Health Care, Housing Counseling, Finance & Budget, and Operations. Jamal is also responsible for managing Housing’s Information Technology and Procurements risks/issues. Jamal has been at HUD since 2014 and has led his team in the development and integration of Risk Management into Housing’s processes. In his current capacity, Jamal is responsible for all aspects of planning, performance management, Risk Management Assessment, Key Risk Indicator developments, Subcommittee risk management, and Risk Profile development. Jamal’s achievements in Risk Management has position him to provide support to other programs within HUD, external agencies and led to his engagement in Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Playbook project.
Prior to joining HUD, Jamal worked at Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac and Multifamily mortgage lenders.
Jamal received a Master’s degree from Johns Hopkins University in Real Estate and holds several certifications on leadership, Fraud Risk Management, Audit and Project Risk Management.
Mr. Bouaichi is a member of the Stanford’s SDG Decision Education Center, ABA Certified in Fraud Prevention and is the recipient of several awards. Among other recognitions, He has received Making Home Affordable Certificate of appreciation and the Spirit of Serve award from Fannie Mae.
