Ms. Shelia Humphrey is the Director of Business Integrity and Strategic Management within the Office of Strategic Business Initiatives at the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and Prevention in Atlanta. In this role, Shelia serves as the agency’s lead for Risk Governance, Risk Compliance and Risk Monitoring where she provides oversight for the Enterprise Risk Management framework, Special Emphasis Reviews, Conference Management, and the direct liaison to the Office of Inspector General, Office of Investigation. After spending six years as a senior auditor with the Office of Inspector General and two years as the Deputy Chief of Finance for the Department of Veteran Affairs, Mrs. Humphrey joined the CDC in 1997 where she served as the agency’s lead for the Chronic Fatigue Syndrome forensic audit, Chief of Budget Execution, Deputy Director for the Administrative Services and Programs Office, and later the Management and Program Analyst and Senior Advisor to the agency’s Chief Financial Officer. The former first female Chair of the seventy-year-old CDC Federal Credit Union Board of Directors, Shelia holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Paine College, a Master of Arts from Luther Rice College, and an executive education certificate from the Harvard University National Preparedness Leadership Initiative Program. An active member of the Association for Federal Enterprise Risk Management (AFERM), Shelia is married and has two adult children.
