Javier Lopez is a high-performing public sector executive with nearly 20 years of progressively expanding responsibility evaluating and directing programs at the federal, state, and local levels. He serves as the Senior Policy Advisor in the Department of Health and Human Service’s Office of the Assistant Secretary for Financial Resources (ASFR). Responsible for several HHS-wide projects, Javier provides advice and guidance on all aspects of finance, enterprise risk, and acquisition management to the CFO community.
Outside of his official duties, he continues to serve the greater good. For 12 years, Javier has proudly supported the career growth of students as an Adjunct Professor at his alma mater, Trinity Washington University. As the Co-Founder and Geek in Chief of The Gov Geeks, Javier leads a learning and professional development movement to help public servants get in and get ahead in government.
Javier was born in El Paso, Texas. He holds a Master’s of Science in Administration from Trinity Washington University and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Texas at El Paso.
