Katiuska V. Tapia serves as the Chief of the USCIS Enterprise Risk Management Program of the Office of Security and Integrity (OSI) at U. S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). In this position she provides leadership, strategic, and guidance in enterpriser risks management. Ms. Tapia began her career with OSI in 2014, where she leverages a background in USCIS operations to support numerous OSI projects that interface with Field Operations Directorate (FOD), Service Center Operations (SCOPS), and Refugee, Asylum & International Operations (RAIO).
Ms. Tapia joined the legacy Immigration and Naturalization (INS) in 2001 as an Adjudications Officer responsible for adjudications and Naturalizations Oath Ceremonies. She held a variety of operational and managerial positions as Supervisory Adjudications Officer in USCIS. She also worked with the Citizenship Immigrations Services Ombudsman Office (CISOMB) as Senior Immigration Law Analyst, where she provided independent analyses of areas where employers have challenges with immigration cases and proposing changes to mitigate those problem areas.
Ms. Tapia received her Executive Master’s Degree in Public Management and Public Policy from University of Maryland, College Park. She also holds B.A. in Spanish Language and Literature, with two minors in Portuguese Language and Literature and Latin American Studies. She is also certified in Enterprise Risk Management through George Washington University.
