Jason Thompson currently serves as Director, Operational Risk Management, Office of Risk Management and Regulatory Affairs, Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), where he manages Program Risk Assessments, Internal Controls Review, Third-party Vendor/Supply Chain Risk Management, and Counterparty Risk Management business areas. Prior to his current position he was the Single Family Claims Branch Chief, Finance and Budget (FAB), HUD, where he managed the Review and Compliance section, Financial Operation and Control section, and Supplemental Claims Team processing and disbursement of over 14B in FHA insurance claims annually. Preceding his position in FAB, Mr. Thompson was HUD’s OCIO Performance Manager, where he was responsible for designing, developing, and standing up the agency’s IT Performance Management Framework. Mr. Thompson first joined HUD as an Operational Risk Analyst. Prior to joining the federal government, Mr. Thompson was a Regulatory Advisor at FIS Financial, Vice President of Operations for JP Morgan Chase, and a Regional Retail Sales Manager at E*TRADE Financial, where he focused on banking, servicing, auditing, asset management, anti-money laundering, compliance, and regulatory affairs. Mr. Thompson holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Finance, with a Minor in Economics and has his Master of Business Administration from the University of Maryland.
